1. Who we are

The Tour of Armenia is an international road cycling race registered with the Union Cycliste Internationale as a Class 2.2 event on the UCI Europe Tour, held from 10 to 13 September 2026. This website, tour-of-armenia.com, is published by the race’s organising committee, which is the controller of the personal data described here.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers tour-of-armenia.com and the forms on it. It does not cover other websites we link to, such as social networks, partners, the national tourism sites, or the UCI. Once you follow a link away from this site, the site you arrive at decides what it collects and you should read its own policy.

3. What we collect

Reading this site. You do not need an account and we do not ask you to identify yourself. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which record the requesting IP address, the browser and operating system, the page requested and the time. They exist so the site can be kept secure and working. We do not build profiles from them and we do not combine them with anything else.

Cookies. This site sets one cookie, toa_lang. It records whether you chose English or Armenian, lasts twelve months, and is set only when you use the language switch. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking. The typefaces are compiled into the site itself, so displaying this page does not send a request to any font service.

The contact form. Your name, your email address, the subject you pick and your message. Sent so the race office can answer you.

The press accreditation form. Because a press pass is a credential, this form asks for more: your name, email, phone number and country of residence; the same details for each colleague you accredit alongside you; your outlet’s name, category, website, address, phone and email; your professional role; the name, email and phone of the head of your organisation; a portrait photograph for the pass; and an image of your press card or equivalent proof of accreditation.

4. Why we use it, and on what basis

• To answer you. When you write through the contact form we use your message and your address to reply. We do so because you asked us to.
• To decide accreditation. We use everything on the accreditation form to check that an applicant is a working journalist, to produce passes, and to plan access and safety at the start and finish areas. You give explicit consent when you submit the form, and we also have a legitimate interest in controlling who is inside a closed race area.
• To keep the site working and secure. Server logs are kept for the legitimate interest of running a website that stays up and is not abused.
• To remember your language. The toa_lang cookie exists because you asked for the page in that language.
• We do not use any of it for advertising, and we do not profile you or take automated decisions about you.

5. How long we keep it

• Contact messages: twenty-four months from the date you write, then deleted.
• Accreditation requests: until the end of the 2026 edition and for twelve months after it, so that the committee can answer questions about a decision it made.
• Portraits and press cards: deleted within ninety days of the last stage. These are the most sensitive files we hold and they have no use once the race is over.
• Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for its own short retention period, typically a matter of weeks.

6. Who else sees it

Nobody buys this data and we do not share it for marketing. It reaches other companies only where they operate part of the service for us, under contract and on our instructions:

• Vercel Inc.: hosting for the website and storage for uploaded files.
• Neon Inc.: the database in which submissions are stored.
• Resend: delivery of the notification emails the forms generate.
• For accreditation only, the list of accredited media may be shared with the Armenian Cycling Federation, the UCI commissaires appointed to the race, and the police and security services responsible for closed roads and finish areas. This is what makes a pass work.

7. Where it is processed

The organising committee is in Armenia. Our hosting, database and email providers are established in the United States and process data on servers in the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves Armenia or the European Economic Area, it does so under the standard contractual clauses those providers offer, which is the safeguard the GDPR provides for such transfers.

8. How we protect it

The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Submissions go into a database that no anonymous request can read or write to. Accreditation portraits and press cards are stored in a private area that the public site never serves, under randomly generated filenames rather than the names you gave them, and only accredited staff of the race office can open them. Access to the administration panel requires an account, and accounts are given only to people who need one.

9. Your rights

Under the Law of the Republic of Armenia on the Protection of Personal Data, and under the GDPR where it applies to you, you may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; ask us to restrict or stop a particular use; object to a use we base on legitimate interest; ask for your data in a portable form; and withdraw a consent you gave, without that affecting what was lawful before you withdrew it.

Write to info@tour-of-armenia.com and say which right you are exercising. We answer within thirty days. For a request to see or delete data we may first have to confirm that you are the person the data is about. That check protects you, not us.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Agency of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may complain instead to the supervisory authority where you live.

10. Children

This site is not directed at children and neither form is meant to be filled in by one. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Where a change materially affects what we do with data you have already given us, we will say so on the site rather than leave you to notice.
