From September 10 to 13, Armenia will host the "Tour of Armenia" international professional multi-stage road cycling race for the first time. The event aims to strengthen Armenia's position as a reliable and attractive platform for hosting international sporting events, while also promoting the development of professional sports and sports tourism in the country.
This major international event is expected to feature 18-20 professional teams, with 6 riders per team. Athletes from around the world will participate, representing countries such as the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Thailand, alongside the National Team of Armenia. In total, over 300 delegates will arrive in Armenia, including athletes, team staff, commissaires, and international specialists.
Over the course of 4 days, the riders will traverse the roads of Gegharkunik, Tavush, and Lori provinces, as well as Yerevan, tackling diverse terrain and landscapes. This will showcase the country's natural beauty and rich tourism potential to an international audience.
The "Tour of Armenia" will receive extensive coverage across international platforms. International media coverage, combined with participants exploring various regions of Armenia, will serve to raise awareness of the country, boost tourist inflows, and enhance Armenia's international profile.
